We got going early so Tammy could humor me and let me go to the Flat River Historical Society Museum. It was a nice, surprisingly large, three story building that was formerly the “Egg Emporium”. It was near the site where John Green, the original settler of Greenville, started it all. They had a recreation of John’s tiny original cabin. The Silver Theater was a featured display. They had about a 15 minute presentation featuring holograms of early settlers of Green’s Villiage.

We left the museum (about 30 minutes late) and got together with family to explore the vendors downtown for Danish Festival. Danish Festival is Greenville’s annual celebration honoring the Danish heritage of the town.
We stopped at Flat River Brewing for a little social lubricant prior to going to the class reunion. The Hygge was a good malty lager brewed for Danish Festival and the KoolWave was a good Kolsh. We accompanied the beers with beer cheese and pretzels. It was an excellent snack. The pretzels are provided by Haan’s Bakery in Greenville and the cheese soaks in to them well.

After a quick beer we stopped at Log Cabin Convienience Store to add some Coors to the cooler. We proceeded with our cooler to the site of the reunion and spent some quality time with Tammy’s classmates.
