The Hastings Summer Concert Series wrapped up last night with their Summerfest performance. We finally made it for the last show of the year. The weather was beautiful for the 46th annual Summer Festival . There was a great crowd on the court house lawn for the Arts & Crafts Show Thornapple Plaza had one of their best crowds ever.

We set up our chairs at the Thornapple Plaza for the night’s musical activities and went to Walldorff Brew Pub & Bistro. We had pretzel bites, a small pizza and a couple of sandwichs. It was plenty of food and we were all satisfied. I had a a Strawberry Rhubarb beer and the girls had peach sangria. I did not have any high expectations for a strawberry rhubarb beer, but it was surprisingly good. It had a slightly tart flavor with a strawberry finish.

When we finished our drinks, we returned to our chairs for some music. We started with Dave’s at 7. They had a nice bluesy / folk sound and were quite enjoyable. Between musical acts the young ladies from Expressions Dance Centre kept us entertained with some fine dance routines.

The next act was Night Moves a Bob Seger tribute band. The crowd was one of the best ever at the Thornapple Plaza.

They were followed by another performance from Expressions Dance Centre and All Revved up a Meatloaf cover band from New York.

Today Summerfest wraps up with a Car Show and the Arts & Crafts Show continues on the courthouse lawn.
