Wanderings and Ramblings from West Michigan

Our travels, thoughts, and pictures. We like rocks, and birds, and flowers, and lighthouses, and turtles, and waterfalls, and sunsets, and lots of other stuff.

We stayed at the Plim Plaza Hotel. The hotel has an excellent location, right on the boardwalk. The Plim Plaza was built in 1963 on the location where the Plimhimmon Hotel had burned down the previous year. The Plimhimmon Hotel had been in operation since 1894. The restaurant and bar closed on Labor Day this year and that was the day we arrived.

We had dinner at Bull on the Beach. They had good sandwiches. After a bite to eat we took an evening tram ride down the boardwalk and back. We spent some time watching people on the boardwalk and admired the sand sculptures in front of our hotel

The next morning we walked the beach at sunrise and strolled back to the hotel by way of the boardwalk. We had breakfast at Dough Rollers Pizza & Pancakes. I had an excellent seafood omelet. Our waitress was wonderful. She called me sweetie and darling repeatedly and told us how she had just gotten a note and no tip for doing the same to some other woman’s man.

Before we left Ocean City we stopped at the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. It was a nice stop and an opportunity to take in some of the Ocean City history.
